Am I guessing correctly that you're a fan of Ernst Haeckel?
yes! in fact, i must admit i used some snippets of plant/animal parts straight out of his etchings, when i was collaging the first drafts of the creatures. amazing man; he was a reknown scientist during his life, but did not enjoy any artistic status at the time. however - his drawings served to illustrate his interesting discoveries & theories, so they must've been satisfying to create. i imagine.
