Wrapping up "WANDERLUST:INDIA" inks
Beth Whitman, author of Wanderlust & Lipstick: a guide for women travelling solo; has asked me to do ink drawings for her 2nd book as well: all about India. Very fun; so sad I didn't get a chance to visit in person to sketch from real life, sigh; I spent extra time adding scanned textures & patterns to make grayscale seem as exciting as possible...good to hone photoshop skills further. I really like the graphic novel trend of combining digital effects with scanned textures & lines created by hand...once I get more comfortable with Illustrator, I'd like to work with digitized colors & collaging w/ drawings, photos, textures. A great pioneer of this field is Dave McKean - I highly recommend Mr. Punch, collab w/ Neil Gaiman, by Vertigo/DC comics.

So glad that you have a blog now! And thank you for visiting mine. We can almost pretend that we don't live many states away from each other. Looking forward to your visit in May.
As you might remember, or you might not, I LOVE Dave McKean's stuff! He was a huge inspiration for how I worked when I did digital stuff (way back when), and for getting into collage in general.
Love your work too. It's good to be able to see it on a pretty regular basis again. These drawings are delightful!
