'Raven-Boy' book proposal sent off!
Yippee! Feels good to have this off my desk and into the hands of editors...it's a myth about the waking of the Moon, and a time before the division of Light & Dark. I slipped in various diagrams that were inspired by my studying of the tarot, and also my indispensable Taschen book: Alchemy & Mysticism. I recently took my life abroad for 4 months & this item was one thing that I sorely missed!

Unusual Valentine's gifts...
In case you'd like to celebrate with a bizarre gift, why not send my monster-hybrid-family mug? Or if you are feeling more traditional, or at least thrifty, I just put up a 'Portrait of a Heart' V-day postcard. Which also could be used as an emphatic 'thank-you' card all year round...(available thru Zazzle - click this link to find page)

Illustration portfolio update...at Red Fox Literary
Check out my latest book illustration samples here (and a few posted below)
I must say - I am pleased as punch to have my name in such (online) proximity to Henrik Drescher, a real art-hero of mine from waaay back. He is also represented by the newly-formed Red Fox Literary, which I joined this year.

the Illustrated Lady & the Minotaur...progress
First couple of pages...it's about relationships that have expiration dates on them. Pretty much a universal topic, I figger. I will say more on this later. Meantime, if you have any particularly interesting tales of the tragedy of combining and separating human lives, write to me and maybe I will include something of it in the plot (which is still emerging). That is, if you happen to be into the idea of being immortalized in a graphic novel. Otherwise...it's going to be all about me and everyone I've known! (evil laugh here) Well, not really. This will be in the camp of the fictionalized-memoir-ish, which is the print media world's parallel to Reality-TV, yes?

Artist in Residence @ Antwerp British School

A few scenes from my artist-in-residency here at Antwerp-British-School. The classroom gets pretty loud, but all in all, it's refreshing to have students so enthusiastic about school. They actually cheer and sometimes applaud, when my friend (who is the Class 2 teacher) gives out homework. I'm not kidding about that! We did henna-print-arms and hands using foam relief methods. I get to walk down this street on the way to school every day...awestruck by the Art Nouveau architecture here
LOGICALLY
So. I'm behind on the couple projects in my lap, behind on digging up new gigs for after that, unfinished with 2 book proposals in the works, and waging war against a sore throat. LOGICALLY I decide the best thing to do is to start a brand new book idea. I've always been fascinated by tattoo-covered characters from the carny days, and of course, who doesn't feel intrigued by a Minotaur? And maybe someday this'll bring in some dough, which would be very nice. Meanwhile...two variations on the cover design I was mulling over.....

Sneak peek: Raven-Boy progressing...
A few of the opening pages going into the proposal...a graphic novel for age 10+

Film Noir inspired....
Worked this image up for Runway Vigilantes of Taos! They are striking again, this Christmas season. Wishing I could be there, but pleased to be involved from across the pond in a small way....!!!

Canned icons...liked how they turned out, anyhow
Been meaning to stick these up - originally created for the ISEA2012 convention imagery, they weren't used in the end, but I liked the result.

Adding a few tweaks...
...couldn't resist playing with the needle and thread idea....some more noodlin' around resulted in these...
